How these numbers are made
- Raised is what official flags earned after tax, for sales that were not refunded. The price you pay is the price shown — VAT is inside it, not added on top — and that VAT is passed to the relevant authority. It was never ours, so no share of it is committed here. A refunded order leaves this page entirely: the sale was reversed, so there is no part of it to report.
- Committed is 30% of raised, rounded down to the cent. Down rather than nearest, so the pool is never credited with a cent that was not taken.
- Payment processing fees come out of the remaining 70%, not out of the cause pool. The committed figure is a share of what you paid, not of what was left after Stripe.
- Paid out is entered by hand after a transfer has been made, with a receipt where one exists. Nothing on this page moves money — there is no automated transfer, by design.
- Committed minus paid out is money owed and not yet sent. It should be positive between payouts; that is what it looks like when a pool is filling up.
