Terms of Service
What Flagplace is. A collaborative pixel canvas on a world map. Placing pixels and flags is free, metered only by regenerating charges. Everything you place is public the moment you place it.
What you may buy. protection for existing murals, and coins. Coins buy back your paint tank, canvas sizes and cosmetics — never a faster refill, and never someone else's work. Protection is a 12-month lease, not a permanent right: while the lease is active nobody can paint over the mural; when it ends the mural stays on the canvas but becomes paintable again unless renewed. Renewal extends the lease from its current end date, and each mural's page shows that date. Protection cannot be bought while a mural is under active contest, and protected area is capped per region and per account — a capped purchase is refused before any payment is taken. Protection bought before leases existed was converted to a 24-month lease from its purchase date. If we revoke protection as a moderation action, the purchase is refunded. Purchases are processed by Stripe; we are the seller of record. Refunds follow the refund policy, which is the EU 14-day withdrawal right applied to everyone, minus coins you have already spent.
Coins your community earns. Finishing a mission mints coins into your community's treasury. These earned coins are not money: they have no cash value, cannot be transferred, sold or gifted, and cannot be withdrawn. They belong to the community rather than to any member, they expire at the end of the season in which they were credited, and they may be revoked for breaches of the fair-play rules — including while a payout is still settling.
Coins you buy are unaffected by any of that: they do not expire, they are not revoked for somebody else's behaviour, and the refund terms above apply to them exactly as before.
Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of Estonia. Nothing here removes a right you have under the consumer law of the country you live in, and the minimum age to use Flagplace is 13.
Your content. You keep ownership of what you draw and grant us a licence to display it on the canvas and in shares of the canvas. You promise it does not infringe anyone's rights and follows the content policy. We can remove content that breaks the rules; moderation actions are logged.
The canvas is a shared place. Unprotected community murals can be painted over by others — contest is part of the product, not a malfunction. Protection is the paid opt-out, for the length of its lease. We may freeze regions during moderation.
No accounts required; lost credentials are lost. Identity is a browser cookie unless you create an account. There is no email on file unless you connect one; a lost recovery code without a connected account is unrecoverable, and coins or purchases tied to it cannot be restored.
Liability. The service is provided as-is; to the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to what you paid us in the last twelve months.
Changes. We may update these terms; material changes will be announced on the site before they apply.
